The trek from Jesuit
My Freshman year I played football. One week we had a by-week and 4 of my friends and I decided to go to the Jesuit football game to see some of our old friends. We made this decision without thinking it all the way through and ended up going without a ride back home. After the game we finally realized this and it was already too late to ask someone for a ride because everyone had left. I'm not sure why but we also decided that it would be a bad idea to call my friends mom and tell her we went to the game and needed a ride home. after about half an hour of thinking about what to do we decided it would just be best to walk back to his house. His house was about 9 miles away. That doesn't sound like a long walk but at 11:30 at night in dallas as Freshmen it was petrifying. No one knew the way home so we looked it up on google maps. Google maps decided to take us either on the tollway or a different route which was about 15 miles long. I told everyone that I thought I knew the way home and at first no one would trust me but finally I convinced them to let me lead the way home. Eventually after about an hour and a half of walking we made it home safe and sound. After safely getting everyone home I had improved the relationships of my friends because they trusted me a lot more after that. I rose up at that time and showed that I could lead people and lead them the right way.
